Nut for the Cracking

[The Nation Newspaper] It’s there in homes, hotels and restaurants – used cooking oil destined for the dump. But wait a minute! What if that greasy liquid can be converted into a product – biodiesel – to help fuel Barbados’ drive towards greater energy efficiency? Young Barbadian entrepreneur Handel Callender is convinced there’s value still in that used cooking oil. He has a big dream that one day this country will produce enough of this “waste” to reduce its fuel import bill by ten to 20 per cent.
