LLEG was one of four companies, including the New York Times Company, Northern Power and Siemens, to receive the maximum $1 million dollar grant from NYSERDA. The Project will be located at the Laidlaw Energy & Environmental cogeneration facility in Ellicottville, New York, which is a joint venture between LLEG and an affiliate of the Greystone organization. The Project involves the conversion of the cogeneration facility, which currently utilizes natural gas as its fuel source, to a clean wood residue based fuel. The Project has a 30-year power purchase agreement with Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, a National Grid Company with approximately 17 years remaining.
