New Biogas Project for 350,000-Cow Operation

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Intrepid Technology and Resources’ construction project manager met with the WestPoint Dairy operations personnel at the WestPoint construction site this week to discuss details of the layout and sequencing of the construction activities associated with the 15-tank biogas facility being built at the dairy. The project located near Wendell Idaho, home to over 350,000 cows, will produce around 140 million cubic feet of gas per year and each of the 15 35,000 gallon tanks will process 10 gallons of raw animal waste per minute. The dairy has begun moving the winter accumulation of compost that currently covers the site and should have the site cleared within a week. At that point, JUB Engineers of Twin Falls, Idaho will provide the licensed survey and establish the excavation and backfill profile. In addition to clearing the compost, WestPoint will also construct a separate road that will provide direct and exclusive access to the construction site. All of these activities are being coordinated so that Cannon Builders can begin actual site preparation work on 16 May.
