Methanol Industry Supports New Legislation

March 4, 2003 [] The Methanol Institute joined with a broad coalition of automakers, alternative fuel interests and leading environmental organizations to praise Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT), James Jeffords (I-VT) and John Rockefeller (D-WV), along with Representative Dave Camp (R-MI) in the House, for their leadership in introducing the CLEAR Act in the 108th Congress. The CLEAR Act (Clean Efficient Automobiles Resulting from Advanced Car Technologies Act) will provide tax incentives to encourage consumers to purchase fuel cell-powered and other advanced technology vehicles and establish the necessary fueling infrastructure.
