Marine Terminal Switches to Ethanol-Diesel Blend

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] The Long Beach Container Terminal of California has converted its entire fleet of heavy-duty diesel-powered container handling equipment to the ethanol diesel blend produced by O2Diesel of Delaware. The full fleet conversion follows a successful three months of durability testing in approximately 5 of its so-called “yard dogs,” which are heavy duty equipment used to load and unload shipping containers onto trucks and railcars. All equipment ran flawlessly and led LBCT to convert its entire 104 heavy-duty container handling fleet to O2Diesel, and the fleet is expected to consume in excess of 750,000 gallons (2,836,000 litres) of the fuel mix per year.
