Malaysia Chooses Hydro Dam Builder

August 27, 2002 [] Malaysia choose a construction company recently for its long-delayed US$2.4 billion Bakun dam, awarding the deal to a group led by a unit of local conglomerate Sime Darby, together with a Chinese infrastructure firm. The winning bidders proposed building the project for US$474 million within five years.
