Kansas Governor Attends Ethanol Event

October 21, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] A Kwik Shop fueling station in Maize, Kansas, near Wichita, will celebrate the Grand Opening of their 85 percent ethanol (E85) pump on October 21. The station is located at 5340 North Maize Road. The Grand Opening event will began at 1:30 p.m. with remarks from Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius. E85 will also sell for 85 cents a gallon throughout much of the day. Currently, Kansas has one additional E85 location at the Topeka Truck & Travel Center Texaco at 1235 Wanamaker Road in Topeka. A station in Garnett is in the process of adding E85. The station’s E85 pump was funded in part by the Kansas Corn Commission, the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition, and ICM, a Colwich-based ethanol plant developer.
