India’s NTPC to Enter Geothermal Sector

New Delhi, India [UPI] India’s National Thermal Power Corp. plans to set up a 30-50 megawatt (MW) geothermal power plant as part of diversification plans. NTPC is looking for a suitable location to build the new plant, which would be its first geothermal power facility. … India does not have any commercial geothermal-based power plants. An NTPC spokesman said private geothermal plants could be small and in the range of 50-100 MW.
