Indiana Landfill Gas Could Produce Electricity Soon

2002-02-18 [] Landfill officials in Buchanan, Indiana are considering building an electrical generation plant to use the 1,500 cubic feet of methane gas they currently burn off at the facility. The landfill has the capacity to produce newly 5,000 kW of electricity that could power nearly 5,000 homes. A generation plant could cost US$5 to $6 million.
