India Attains Fourth Position in World in Wind Energy

[Islamic Republic News Agency] India is blessed with a variety of renewable energy sources, the main ones being biomass, biogas, the sun, wind, and small hydropower. The Renewable Energy Sector is assuming a greater role in providing grid power to the Nation and total capacities has reached about 7,000 Mega Watts (MW), which is six percent of the country’s grid power capacity, Shri A M Gokhale, Secretary, Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, said here today.
