ICP Global Acquires Intersolar UK

ICP Global Technologies, a manufacturer and distributor of solar charging solutions for consumers, has acquired Intersolar Ltd, a manufacturer of amorphous-silicon cells in the United Kingdom.

Montreal, Canada – January 27, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] With the acquisition ICP intends to strengthen its position in the RV, marine and other retail markets and give it further penetration into European markets for photovoltaic applications. The acquisition includes a 3 MW thin-film amorphous solar cell manufacturing plant as well as the Electra-slate roof tile technology and all other patents previously held by Intersolar. “It’s actually one of Intersolar’ s products that got me interested in solar back in 1988,” said Sass Peress, Chairman and CEO of the ICP Group of Companies. “We plan to run this new venture with the same rigor, energy and marketing savvy that’s been our trademark for the last 15 years. We have inherited a great team [at Intersolar] and they are encouraged that we have saved so many jobs in Wales in such a quick turnaround ”
