Hydroelectric Project Planned for San Juan Province

Argentina’s San Juan province has signed a contract for the construction of the Punta Negra hydroelectric project, said the country’s national public works agency.

The US$340 million, 120-MW project on the San Juan River will provide power to regulator Cammesa under terms of the contract

The Punta Negra project is expected to generate 296 GWh annually from two Francis turbines. Details on how the project is being financed were not released. (From HydroWorld.com)
