CLEVELAND, Ohio, US, 2001-07-31 [SolarAccess.com] A supplier of green power in the United Syayes will launch an innovative customer rewards program for its customers in Ohio this fall. Green Mountain Energy Company says its Power Perks(TM) will be available to 400,000 customers who buy electricity generated from renewable energy and natural gas. The consumers live in communities served by the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council, and the savings will be offered on a variety of goods, services and entertainment, from discounts on purchases, to museum and zoo visits. GME claims to be the largest and fastest growing residential provider of cleaner electricity in the country, with more than half a million customers in California, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as Ohio and its home state of Texas. The company sells electricity generated from wind, PV, water, geothermal, biomass and natural gas. Since 1997, GME has been involved in the installation of new renewable generation facilities such as the windfarm in Garrett, PA and two large PV facilities in northern California.
