Geothermal Resource Discovered in China

July 25, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] In China, the Hebei provincial geological department has recently discovered a 3,200-meter-deep geothermal resource with sodium chloride water at about 85 degrees centigrade and a water flow of 40 tons/hour. The province has already developed 600 hectares of planting and breeding areas through the exploitation of geothermal resources, as well as supplying heating to over two million square meters of housing.
