Geothermal Research to Australia

May 1, 2002 [] Geodynamics hopes to raise $A20 million in a public float to fund a pilot plant in the Cooper Basin gasfields in South Australia. The project will use hot dry rock technology as an energy source. Dr Doone Wyborn has been working on the project for nine years. He has assessed several sites but finally settled on the Cooper Basin, because gas producers in the region will buy the power generated. The plant will be specifically for demonstration purposes.
