Geothermal Pump Orders Flooding Texas Market

February 18, 2004 [] Austin, Texas-based DeMarco Energy Systems of America reported that over the last 12 to 18 months, the company has experienced a spike in the number of inquires for DeMarco Energy’s geothermal heat pump products. DeMarco Energy reported that homes in the price range of US$500,000 to US$3,000,000 constitute the largest growth area for geothermal pump sales. DeMarco Energy reported that the company has also experienced an extremely high interest in the homes priced under $500,000. According to the company, the interest in the DeMarco Energy Miser Heat Pump has mainly been in the new home market, but the company also has experienced significant interest in the retrofit (replacement) of existing conventional units. The company is in the process of closing and/or starting at least five residential geothermal jobs and two commercial jobs within the next 60 days — with jobs totaling approximately $750,000 in sales.
