Garbage to Energy Plant for China

2002-03-26 [] Tianjin, a northern China port city, is holding international bidding for the construction of the first power plant fueled by household refuse. The power plant, with a designed installed capacity of 18 MW, will consume 1,200 tons of household refuse, or a quarter of the city’s total garbage, daily. Construction will cost 570 million yuan (US$69 million) with some key equipment being imported.
