First Ethanol Station for Tennessee

August 26, 2003 [] A Citgo station in Nashville, Tennessee, is the first public E85 fueling facility to open in the state. Located at 500 Main Street, near the Titan football stadium, the station dispenses the domestic, renewable transportation fuel, E85, which is a combination of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. Citgo’s new 10,000-gallon E85 tank in Nashville will service about 1,200 fleet vehicles as well as the general public. The National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition partially funded the project through a grant to Clean Cities of Middle Tennessee. E85 can be used to power flexible-fuel vehicles which can run off both ethanol based fuel and regular gasoline.
