Farmers Support Energy Bill Passage

November 18, 2003 [] The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) is backing passage of the proposed Energy Bill containing a 5 billion-gallon Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) and accelerated production schedule. The association’s number-one priority in the conference process was to acquire an accelerated fuels schedule that reflects the expansion of the U.S. ethanol industry, said the NCGA President Dee Vaughan. The legislation also includes important renewable fuel tax provisions, and other tax credits and incentives for the ethanol and biofuels industry.
