EUROSOLAR Receives Solar Prize

A major solar energy award in Europe has been presented to the European Association for Renewable Energy for the second time.

BONN, Germany, DE, 2001-12-03 [] EUROSOLAR has received the European Solar Prize for outstanding examples and initiatives for the utilization of renewable energies. Since 1994, this award has been presented in various categories. The awards ceremony will be held on December 5 in Berlin. This year’s award include: – City of Barcelona (Spain) and the federal province of Vorarlberg (Austria) in the cities and municipalities category; – Weingut Pflüger (Germany) in the category of farmers and commercial enterprises; – Calorius (Denmark) in owners/users of renewable energy installations; – Solar 91 (Switzerland) in associations; – Francesca Sartogo (Italy) and Hockerton Housing Project (Britain) for solar architecture; – New Energy magazine (Germany) for media; – Kompetenzzentrum Synergiepark (Switzerland) for education; – environment minister Yves Coichet (France) and Gianni Silvestrini (Italy) for special awards.
