European Commission to Release Halted RE Funds to Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal [The Hindu] Terming the landmark agreement between Nepal government and Maoists as “encouraging progress”, the European Commission (EC) has decided to re-activate the stalled projects worth nearly USD 23.94 million. … “The stalled projects include USD 19.68 million renewable energy project and projects to support trade facilitation in the private sector with the total value of USD 5.25 million,” said the statement issued at the end of Europe Aid Cooperation Office director Erich W Muller’s three-day visit.
