Denmark & Norway Provide Assistance for Renewable Energy in Nepal

[] Ambassadors of Denmark and Norway, on behalf of their respective governments, signed an agreement with Nepali government on [March 15] pledging 3 billion Nepali rupees (some 42.8 million U.S. dollars) in grant assistance for renewable energy programs in the country over a five-year period. The support is provided through a second phase of the Energy Sector Assistance Program, which in its first phase was supported by Denmark. … This program will include support to development of a new national policy for rural energy delivery, which covers both renewable and non-renewable sources.
