Defense Energy Center Seeks Green Tags

September 4, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] According to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), The Defense Energy Support Center (DESC) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for renewable energy certificates from wind and landfill projects on behalf of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, site. Technical data is due on September 16 and pricing is due on September 23. The RFP states that there is currently US$50,000-100,000 available for tags purchases. The purchases must be split evenly between wind and landfill gas. All offers must provide tags that come from renewable facilities beginning operation after 1 January 1999, or re-powered after this date. Green-e certification, including strict adherence to the Green-e Code of Conduct, or its equivalent, is required for this contract. DESC is soliciting offers for either a 1-, 2-, or 3-year delivery period starting October 1. The RFP is available at the following link.
