Contracts Secured for Bio-Diesel Generators

June 6, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] Southern States Power Co. Inc., a member of the National Bio-diesel Board, announced additional details of its involvement in a renewable energy project in Clarksdale, Miss. The agreement to sell three 2 MW bio-diesel fueled generators to Delta Green Power, for a cash payment of US$1.8 million is part of Southern States’ role in the development of power generation projects using renewable fuels, such as bio-diesel, solar, and wind energy. Delta Green Power, plans to use the generators to supply electricity in a power project with Clarksdale Public Utilities in Clarksdale. Additional aspects of the project may include the utilization of an existing crushing plant facility in the region for the purpose of converting native feedstock into bio-diesel and even greater renewable power generation capacity for local industrial customers.
