Company to Reduce CO2 with RE

January 20, 2003 [] American Electric Power (AEP) has joined the Chicago Climate Exchange, the first U.S. voluntary pilot program for trading of greenhouse gas emissions. AEP expects to meet its reduction commitment cost-effectively through a broad portfolio of actions, potentially including power plant efficiency improvements, renewable generation such as wind and biomass co-firing, off-system greenhouse gas reduction projects and reforestation projects.
