Colorado Biodiesel Market Target of New Company

Southern States Power, (SSPC) a member of the National Biodiesel Board, has formed a Colorado company that is expanding the marketing, sales and distribution of SSPC’s OxEG Biodiesel in the state.

Riverside, California – October 1, 2002 [] U.S. Fuel Partners L.L.C. was organized on Sept. 20, 2002 with Altfuels Inc., a Colorado company, and SSPC as its initial partners. U.S. Fuel Partners has developed initial distribution of biodiesel and has sold fuel in the Colorado market with the first shipment to be received within the next week. The goal of U.S. Fuel Partners is to capture a significant share of the growing biodiesel market. SSPC’s EPA-registered OxEG Biodiesel will be featured in a coordinated program to improve the air quality in Colorado where pollution levels in some areas persistently exceed National Ambient Air Quality Standards, in addition to reducing U.S. dependence on foreign oil. The company also plans to expand its attendance at trade shows and other industry events to further highlight the availability and advantages of OxEG as an alternative fuel. “This is the first volley in a series of tactical moves to rapidly realize our ambitions to support portfolio companies that will become a prime source of supply for biodiesel,” said William O. Sheaffer, SSPC’s executive vice president for sales and marketing. “We are extremely pleased to expand our capabilities in the western United States through this new entity.”
