Xiamen, China [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] China Biodiesel has announced that it is set to begin trial production at its new plant located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China that will double the company’s annual production capacity to 100,000 tons, nearly four times last year’s output.
According to China Biodiesel, progress so far is on target to meet market expectations for 2008. However worldwide inflation in vegetable and animal oil prices has continued to impose competitive pressures, the company said. China Biodiesel has continued with its move to higher margin output through the increased production of B1 and B2 biodiesels, which are used as a substitute for petrochemical products in manufacturing industries.
The company said it has also secured new sources of raw material supplies from Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines over and is planning to open new offices in South East Asia to underpin its established supplies from domestic sources.
“China Biodiesel continues to face the challenges confronting the world’s biodiesel industry, but we are delighted to report strong progress…in this increasingly important market,” said Huodong Ye, Chairman of China Biodiesel.
