Canadian Renewable Energy Firm Raises Money

One of the largest renewable energy companies in Canada has obtained almost C$5 million in private funding.

TORONTO, Ontario, CA, 2001-08-03 [SolarAccess.com] One of the largest renewable energy companies in Canada has obtained almost C$5 million in private funding. Canadian Hydro Developers, Inc. says that ARC Canadian Energy Venture Fund 2 will increase its investment in the western company through a common share equity financing. The amount of financing to be realized by the end of this year is $4.9 million. Canadian Hydro has developed and operates nine small hydroelectric plants, one windfarm and one gas-fired plant in Canada, with combined capacity of 62 MW. The facilities are located in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, and the company is installing 26 MW of wind capacity in southern Alberta and 30 MW of small hydro in BC. All of the company’s wind and water plants are certified under the EcoLogo(tm) certification program.
