Bullfrog Power’s 2006 Green Index Supports Renewable Energy

Ontario green-electricity retailer (100%), Bullfrog Power, announced its 2006 Green Index of green-power buyers in Ontario. The index recognizes organizations that help to create a healthier environment for children, communities and future generations by choosing clean, renewable power.

More than 50 companies fall under five different levels of megawatt hours (MWh) of annual green power purchased: Ambassador (10,001 MWh), Steward (1000-9,999 MWh), Herald (500-999 MWh), Envoy (100-499 MWh), Advocate (1-99 MWh). Bullfrog Power, said to be the first 100% green electricity retailer in Ontario, has pledged 10% of company profits to organizations that promote sustainability. Every “bullfrogpowered” customer ensures that their electricity dollars support clean, renewable energy producers who are displacing polluting and CO2-emitting electricity production on the Ontario grid. Bullfrog Power sources power exclusively from pollution-free wind and low-impact hydro generators that meet or exceed the federal government’s Environmental Choice Program EcoLogo standard for renewable energy.
