Biomass Bids Undergo Review

October 20, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] Hydro-Quýbec Distribution proceeded with the opening of bids received in response to its April 15 call for tenders for the purchase of 100 MW of firm capacity. The call for tenders was launched in accordance with a provincial Order-in-Council calling for the purchase of biomass-produced energy by the Distributor. The bids were opened in Montrýal in the presence of Samson Býlair / Deloitte & Touche. In all, 7 bids were submitted for a total capacity of 86 MW. In the coming months, Hydro-Quýbec Distribution will study and evaluate the bids. The successful bidders should be announced at the end of this year. Access: Hydro Quebec
