Biogas Project in India Uses California Turbines

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Los Angeles-based Capstone Turbine has been selected to provide microturbines to a biogas-to-energy demonstration project in West Bengal, India. The project is at a dairy farm and should be online mid-2005. It will be the first installation of Capstone MicroTurbine energy systems in India. The project will encompass two new anaerobic digesters, gas pre-treatment equipment, two Capstone C30 systems and a microgrid to export power. Thermal energy produced by the system will be used for dairy operations, as will about one-third of the electricity produced by the pair of microturbines. Remaining electricity will be distributed via a microgrid to a nearby village.
