Biofuel Blend Available at 75 Minnesota Stations

May 22, 2003 [] The estimated 100,000 Minnesotans who drive a “flexible fuel vehicle” now have another good reason – other than its famous rolls – to stop at Tobies, the Hinckley, Minnesota gas station and bakery. On Thursday, May 15, the popular stop for travelers visiting the North Shore or the nearby casino began selling E85, a cleaner-burning alternative fuel made from a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent petroleum. Flexible fuel vehicles can use either E85 or regular gasoline; the special engines are standard equipment on 20 models produced by Ford, Mercury, General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Isuzu and Mazda. More than 75 fuel stations in Minnesota now offer E85 as an alternative to gasoline, more than any other state.
