Bioenergy Focus of Free Workshops in Washington State

[] The Washington state Department of Ecology is sponsoring two free one-day workshops focusing on bioenergy production, regulation and use in Washington state. The workshops are scheduled for Feb. 9 in Seattle at the Seattle Center, and Feb. 16 in Moses Lake at the Best Western Lake Inn. The workshops run from 8:30 to 4 p.m. each day. Participants will learn about proposed state legislation and policy issues, including the renewable fuel standard and the “bioenergy road map.” Technical aspects of biodiesel production — materials, processes, byproducts, wastes, emissions and discharges — and regulatory requirements are also on the workshop agenda. Other topics covered will include biodiesel fuel quality and performance, and government technical, permitting and financial assistance. The workshops are free.
