Biodiesel Project Goes Up in France

Paris, France [] Veolia Environmental Services (VES) will construct its first biodiesel production plant near Paris, France, in the region of Limay. This is part of the second phase of a program established by the French government to aid the development of biofuel, thereby promoting the use of renewable energies and assisting the reduction of greenhouse gases. The manufacturing plant will produce 60,000 tons of resource-recovered biodiesel from used food oils that will be blended with virgin vegetable oils. Construction is due to begin in 2008.
