Biodiesel Cleans Up G8 Summit

[] The G8 Summit may have come to a close without any important or binding agreements among the world’s wealthiest nations to combat global warming, but care was at least taken to ensure the Summit itself operated with that goal in mind. The vehicles transporting the materials and equipment for the world leaders, ministers and their entourage at last week’s G8 Summit in Gleneagles, Scotland ran on a cleaner, greener fuel. A five percent mix of Biodiesel, supplied by Teeside-based Petroplus, and produced by Argent Energy from tallow and used cooking oil at the world’s largest plant of its kind, made sure the vehicles were cleaner than usual. Perhaps the leaders at the next G8 meeting will make a commitment of their own.
