Aggreko shares power and temperature control support expertise at All-Energy

How to save money and time on renewables projects will be among the topics discussed by Aggreko at All-Energy in Glasgow in May.

Aggreko will showcase how its specialist renewables division supports every phase of the project lifecycle across a range of applications, including wind, solar, tidal and biogas.  This stretches from construction – through installation, testing and commissioning process – to the operation and maintenance phases.

Alf Scambler, Renewables Sector Manager at Aggreko, will present to the conference on Wednesday 4 May. He will explain how to fast-track the commissioning phase of projects with grid connection simulation technology, to help gain ROC and FIT approval before the expiry deadlines. He will share the technical details of how this method has been applied to renewables projects across the UK.

On Thursday 5 May, Marcus Saul, Aggreko Business Development Manager for Offshore Wind, will make a presentation entitled ‘Every minute costs: the importance of temporary power in offshore construction and commissioning’. With a new growth phase in offshore wind farms on the horizon, he will share Aggreko’s specialist experience of more than 20 offshore wind farm projects across Europe.

Alf Scambler said: “Aggreko’s equipment and expertise is helping customers to construct, commission, operate and maintain their renewables sites. We operate the largest fleet of high voltage power equipment and loadbanks suitable for renewable energy applications and offer rapid response 24/7 support to projects, both on and offshore.  As the market leader in power support services, our experienced technical support team spend time understanding project requirements and can design and deliver bespoke engineered solutions that reduce project delays, risk and costs.”

Aggreko, which is the global leader in temporary power and temperature control solutions, has the world’s largest fleet of power, heating and cooling rental equipment and operates in more than 200 locations worldwide.

The company will showcase its proven technologies and services for pre-grid commissioning, which enables wind and solar developers to accelerate testing and commissioning. By using generators and loadbanks to simulate grid connection and complete the commissioning, they can beat tight accreditation deadlines for Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROC). Aggreko has used this process to maximise revenue at many renewables projects across the UK, including a recent project at Moy Wind Farm.
