Added Capacity Coming to New Zealand Hydro Plant

2002-03-14 [SolarAccess.com] A second tail-race tunnel will be commissioned in early May at the Manapouri, New Zealand power station adding 180 MW capacity making its maximum capacity 760 MW. With the improvements, Manapouri can produce more power — about 640 gigawatt hours more a year — with the same amount of water.
