Dr. Amundsen completed two bachelor’s degrees at the University of Rochester – one in physics and astronomy, and the other in engineering and applied science. He also earned a master’s and doctorate in energy management and policy at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Amundsen is the President of the Long Island Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers. He is a Certified Energy Manager, and a Distributed Generation Certified Professional. His professional society memberships include the Cogeneration Institute, and the Environmental Engineers & Managers Institute.
He received the Environmental Educator of the Year Award as well as an award for energy professional development. He served as Engineering Faculty Advisor for the NYIT Solar Decathlon Team, and is currently Director of the M.S. in Energy Management program at New York Institute of Technology.
