Philippe Paelinck has an extensive industry sales and technical background, with Union Carbide, DOW and Honeywell/UOP, in the field of refining and petrochemical process licensing and speciality product sales & marketing. Since 1984, he held several managerial positions in Europe, relating mainly to fluid purification processes and products. Since April 2006, he has been working for Alstom. First as director CO2 Product, where he was in charge of coordinating the development of innovative CO2 capture solutions for the Thermal Power sector. Then, in 2009, following the creation of a dedicated CO2 Capture business unit, he was appointed director CO2 Business Development for the Power Systems sector; supporting technically and commercially the global power sales and marketing organization on CO2 strategy, communication and advocacy, as well as the upstream promotion of the CO2 capture solutions to the market. On 1 June 2012, he became vice-president portfolio and strategic positioning for the Alstom Global Power Sales & Marketing team. In this role, he is responsible of the alignment of product developments and portfolio evolution with customer needs, market trends and competitive benchmark. He is also insuring that all product promotion efforts are aligned with the global Alstom Clean Power offering strategy.
