Chris McDermott is a seasoned professional in climate change policy and implementation. From 1998 to 2006 he was a Canadian federal negotiator on the Kyoto Protocol. From 2007 to 2015 he managed the carbon trading and renewable energy businesses for Hartz Capital, Inc. in the United States. An early mover in solar PV deployment, Hartz was designated a Top Solar User in America by the Solar Energy Industries Association. Mr. McDermott has an economics degree from McGill University and a master’s degree from Carleton University. He lives in Ottawa and New York.
