The first phase has been completed in the selection process for partners in PPC Renewable’s geothermal development work in Greece.

PPC recently said that it has received expressions of interest from seven companies. The companies include:

  • Storengy
  • KS ORKA
  • Enel Green Power Hellas
  • TERNA ENERGY — TERNA AIOLIKI XEROVOUNIOU
  • HELECTOR S.A.
  • Zorlu Energy — TURBODEN
  • MAREN Maras Elektrik Üretim San. Ve Tic. A.Ş.

Those companies that qualify for the second phase of the partnership selection process will be given access to development details before final partners are announced, the company said.

According to PPC, the company holds a production permit for 8 MW in the geothermal field of Lesvos. The permit is for the Stipsis local geothermal field. In addition, PPC’s research shows that Nisyros island has a 50-MW geothermal potential, enough to supply electricity for its residents and those of seven other islands.
