November 3, 2011 — Solaria, a global solar photovoltaic module manufacturer, deployed the Camstar Enterprise Platform to drive quality control throughout its manufacturing processes. Solaria’s Fremont, CA headquarters installed Camstar Manufacturing manufacturing execution system (MES) for real-time product and process intelligence as well as process and quality control across global locations.

Cost-effective solar modules are in demand, said Ajay Marathe, SVP operations at Solaria, who added that Camstar’s platform is allowing Solaria to scale up operations with consistent product quality. The company operates in the US, India, and Europe.

“Since we’ve implemented Camstar, we have the insight we need to focus on key areas that enhance process step yields,” added Satwant Singh, quality director at Solaria.

The Camstar Platform drives Solaria’s virtual factory with closed-loop quality processes for continuous improvement by enforcing best practices. R&D, contract manufacturing, and field use teams are able to communicate, added Helen Milani, senior director of IT at Solaria.

Solaria designs, manufactures and markets silicon PV modules and systems to solar system integrators, project developers and electric utilities. For more information, visit www.solaria.com.
