SINGULUS PV coating tool extends CIGS production offering

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG launched a vacuum coating system for copper/indium/gallium/selenide and copper/indium/selenide (CIGS/CIS) thin-film solar cell manufacture, recording its first order for the system.

October 14, 2011 — SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG launched a vacuum coating system for copper/indium/gallium/selenide and copper/indium/selenide (CIGS/CIS) thin-film solar cell manufacture, recording its first order for the system.

The company reports that solar cell efficiencies are improved, and production costs lowered, with this product.

The system can be used for vertical vacuum-based coating of glass substrates, a new fab area for SINGULUS. Through its TENUIS GEN2, VITRUM GEN2 and CISARIS systems, SINGULUS supplies CIGS/CIS wet-chemical processing and selenization systems. The new vacuum-coating system adds a further production stage to its portfolio.
