The center’s first seminar, held in March, showcased the latest technologies for solar cell metallization with theory and practical sessions, including a live demonstration of an RFS Fast-Firing System, highlighting high throughput rates, a large process window, integrated residue management, and enhanced process control. Software features allow users to monitor quality characteristics, and implement traceability concepts (wafer mapping).

The firing system’s process chamber is subdivided into two sections, burning and fast firing, which are equipped with IR radiators uninterruptedly from top to bottom.  Eight individually adjustable heat zones allow for flexible temperature profiling. The lengths of the zones in the burning section vary for ideal matching to the various paste requirements.
