Photovoltaics World surveyed our readers to find out what part of the world best incubate solar cell start-ups and spin-outs. As solar power moves to large-scale, global projects, more and more solar start-ups are emerging with new thin film technologies, better materials for c-Si cell fab, and more.

(October 25, 2010) — Photovoltaics World surveyed our readers to find out what part of the world best incubate solar cell start-ups and spin-outs. As solar power moves to large-scale, global projects, more and more solar start-ups are emerging with new thin film technologies, better materials for c-Si cell fab, and more. Readers told PVW that the best places to start a solar PV industry company are global, spanning the U.S., China, Germany, and even SubSaharan Africa. As one commenter put it — build solar businesses where you can sell solar power. (Also read: Photovoltaic power poised to become mainstream source of energy in all Sunbelt countries by 2030)
