RES Awarded Contract for Nebraska Wind Project

Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. has been awarded the Balance of Plant (BOP) construction contract for the Flat Water Wind Project in Nebraska. The project will mark RES Americas’ second wind energy project in the state.

Located in southern Nebraska’s Richardson County and Kansas’ Nemaha County, the 60-megawatt (MW) project will comprise 40 GE 1.5-MW wind turbines. Construction is underway with completion scheduled for December 2010.

“Nebraska has great potential for clean, renewable energy and, through the construction of Flat Water Wind Project, RES Americas will continue to help the state realize its clean energy goals,” said Chris Hills, VP of Construction Projects for RES Americas.  “This project will mark our first partnership with the project sponsors and we look forward to establishing a strong professional relationship with these companies.”

As the project owner and operator, Flat Water Wind Farm LLC is associated with a tri-party partnership between Gallop Power, Gestamp Wind North America, a subsidiary of Gestamp Renewables and Banco Santander S.A.
