CORPS OF ENGINEERS SEEKS PROJECT MANAGER
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is seeking motivated and talented employees to support its mission of providing the very best engineering, operations and maintenance services to America, particularly for communities in the Pacific Northwest. The position serves as the Operations Project Manager (OPM) at Little Goose Lock and Dam, a multi-purpose hydroelectric project located near Starbuck, WA. The dam is situated on the Lower Snake River 65 river miles downstream from Clarkston, WA, and 70 river miles upstream from Pasco, WA.
Duties: Responsible for management of all operations and maintenance activities including equipment and facility maintenance, equipment operation, and physical security at a multipurpose hydroelectric project which comprises a dam, navigation lock, fish passage systems, and a powerhouse with significant installed electric generation capacity. Through subordinate supervisors, the manager supervises a workforce of skilled trades, general maintenance workers, administrative, and technical employees including engineers and biologists. These employees are responsible for plant operations and maintenance work such as equipment servicing and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, modification or replacement of existing equipment, and adjusting equipment and systems for optimum performance. Plans, directs and executes the annual budget.
