November 2, 2009 – Oerlikon Solar says that CEO Jeannine Sargent is “leaving the company,” and will be replaced on an interim basis by Jürg Henz, senior manager of the company and head of its thin-film solar business.

Sargent was appointed in the fall of 2007, in a new position that wrapped all of the company’s solar-related businesses under one umbrella. She previously had served as EVP/GM of Veeco Instruments’ metrology and instrumentation businesses. Among her goals then: getting the PV manufacturing industry behind the idea of complete turnkey lines, and tightly adopting industrial engineering benchmarks.
