Wisconsin, United States [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] RMT’s WindConnect team recently completed the engineering and construction on the Fowler Ridge I Wind Farm, a 400-megawatt (MW) facility owned by BP Wind Energy and Dominion Resources Inc. The facility is located in Benton County, Indiana about 90 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
As the balance-of-plant (BOP) contractor for Fowler Ridge I, RMT performed the engineering and construction of the civil and electrical systems. This included the underground collection system, two 34.5 to 345-kilovolt (kV), 200-MW substations and the interconnection to the PJM transmission system through a 25-mile, 345-kV transmission line. RMT also performed the erection of 40 Clipper C-96 and 182 Vestas V-82 wind turbines.
