DuPont Doubles Manuacturing Capacity of Thick-Film Pastes

DuPont Microcircuit Materials announced that it recently doubled production capacity and made key quality improvements at its manufacturing facility in Bristol, U.K. Driven by anticipated long-term growth in the photovoltaic (PV) solar energy industry, DuPont says it predicts a significant increase in demand for its Solamet thick film metallization pastes, which help manufacturers increase solar cell efficiencies.

In addition to the increased production capacity for Solamet and other MCM thick film materials — which are used in a wide variety of electronic applications and destined primarily for customers in Europe — the expansion project includes the enhancement of all clean room facilities so that DuPont can meet increasing quality requirements of its customers.

“This state-of-the-art manufacturing facility enables DuPont to meet and exceed customer expectations for high quality and consistency,” said Craig Oliver, European Business Manager of Microcircuit Materials.
